What is the Holy Spirit to You?

The Holy Spirit is God. It is one part of three: Father, Son (Jesus), Holy Spirit. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit is an integral part of our salvation. He is a powerful force and we can do nothing without Him.

Friends, I ask you today to pray to Jesus for Him to send you the Holy Spirit for all parts of your life. When you can't get out of bed in the morning ask for the strength of the Holy Spirit. I challenge you to try it as God knows how to give good gifts. Ask for wisdom when you come upon a problem you can not solve. Ask for the Holy Spirit to help you when you want to tell others about God. Your fears will dissolve as He gives you what to say. Ask and you will receive for God is faithful in all things! Your life will become brighter and easier as you will have a companion who will assist you in all that you do! Pray for the Holy Spirit to remind. Take a second right now and ask Him to be with you every day of your life.

To learn more about the Holy Spirit read below

Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Acts 8:15-16
When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

The Holy Spirit can do what we think is the impossible. He is our strength in times of need. He will give you strength and peace: Spiritually, Physically, Mentally.

Let us see what the Holy Spirit has done in people's lives in the Bible to the extreme! Nothing is too great for the Holy Spirit.

He is ours when we ask for Him, and He is always enough.

Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

The Holy Spirit is sent to us from Jesus. He is our strength while Jesus is away! Notice what Jesus says below about the Holy Spirit... Comforter with "C" and is referred to as "him". He is a living being that makes up God.

John 16:7
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Spiritually:

Elijah did many spectacular miracles to help the world see that there is only one true God. Many people debated if Elijah was from God or not. They learned their lesson: Never doubt God!

2 Kings 1:10
Elijah answered the captain, "If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!" Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men.

The Holy Spirit is still here today. It is working on each and every single one of us. The Holy Spirit works mighty works so that we will believe in God. There is no other reason in life for miracles. What better reason then for each and every one of us to live eternally?

John 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

We will continue with Elijah's successor Elisha.

2 Kings 2:9
When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" "Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit," Elisha replied.

Elisha saw the real value of the Holy Spirit. He also understood that it comes in varying degrees. He received a double portion of the Holy Spirit that was in Elijah and he did many wondrous works! He healed a leper, raised a boy from the dead, made a jar that continually poured oil and never ran out and much more!

Physically:

Now on to Samson, the strongest man who ever lived. He was given great strength to begin freeing the people of God from oppression.

Judges 13:24-25
The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the LORD blessed him, and the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him...

He made mistakes but the Holy Spirit still worked mightily in his life.

One instance of many in Samson's life:

Judges 16:3
But Samson lay there only until the middle of the night. Then he got up and took hold of the doors of the city gate, together with the two posts, and tore them loose, bar and all. He lifted them to his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that faces Hebron.

Mentally:

Then there was Solomon. God gave Solomon His Holy Spirit to increase the blessings of His people. God promised Solomon peace, riches, long life and wisdom because he asked for wisdom.

1 Kings 10:23-24
So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

Now there is Jesus. He is God and while he was on earth He was assisted by the Holy Spirit in all he did. He is God and yet He laid aside His on power and became human to die for all the bad things that we have done. He is greater than any person who ever walked the face of this earth. As Jesus announced Himself:
Luke 11:31
"...behold, a greater than Solomon is here."

What Jesus did was eternal.

John 21:25
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

So all we need to do is pray and ask for the Holy Spirit and wait for when God gives it to us. There will be no mistaking it. The presence of the Holy Spirit can not be missed.

Acts 4:31
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
God will light your life on fire. He will fill you with the Holy Spirit and you will be changed. In all that you do ask for God to lead you. The Holy Spirit will always help you to follow what God says in the Bible and will never lead you to do the contrary.

Always test what you know is right against what the Bible says:
1 John 4:1
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Now the treasures that God has deposited into us; our life and love for God and man can be guarded not only by yourself but with the help of the Comforter the Holy Spirit, Him who is our helper.

2 Timothy 1:14
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you–guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

Acts 8:18-20
When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money and said, "Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
Peter answered: "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!

Romans 5:5
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Daniel 4:9
I said, "Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no mystery is too difficult for you. Here is my dream; interpret it for me.

2 Peter 1:21
For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Luke 12:12
"for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say."
