The LORD Magnifies HIS Word
"For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
At the name of Jesus every knee in heaven and earth shall bow.
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:" Phl 2:9
"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;" Phl 2:10
The Lord magnifies His word above all His name.
"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." Psa 138:2
God’s word is forever settled in heaven.
"LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven."Psa 119:89
The words of the Lord are pure words
"The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. " Psa 12:6
"Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him." Pro 30:5
Our Savior was fortified against temptation by the written word. He used nothing except what we have within our reach.
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Mat 4:4
"Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Mat 4:7
"Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." Mat 4:10
Our new birth comes by the word of God.
"Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently:" 1Pe 1:22
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." 1Pe 1:23
"For all flesh [is] as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: " 1Pe 1:24
"But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. " 1Pe 1:25
As new-born babes we should desire the sincere milk of the Word
"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" 1Pe 2:2
"If so be ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious."1Pe 2:3
The word will cleanse the life.
"BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word. " Psa 119:9
Our steps should be ordered by the Word.
"Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me." Psa 119:133
The Word is as essential as our daily food.
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Mat 4:4
Unbelievers read the Bible in the lives of God’s people.
"Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some [others], epistles of commendation to you, or [letters] of commendation from you?" 2Cr 3:1
"Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:" 2Cr 3:2
"[Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart." 2Cr 3:3
They “may without the word” be converted by the Godly lives of earnest Christians.
"Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;" 1Pe 3:1
So we should not only speak the Word, but live the Word, help us dear Lord to let you transform us so that we truly live the Word.
