A command with promise

God commands us to obey our parents in the Lord.
Ex.19:12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land that the Lord is giving you.

Prov.23:22 Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
Eph.6:1-3 Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise--"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
1Tim.5:4 If a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.
Col.3:20 Children obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Titus3:1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good.
Rom.13:7 Give everyone what you owe him: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Rom.13:2 He who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
Lev.19:32 Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God.
