Remember the Sabboth Day
God tells us to worship Him. He also tells us to set aside a day of rest to worship Him with other believers. He is our Father, Holy God, Our Creator: let us stand in Fear and Reverence before Him, and take the time to bow down before Him to worship and praise Him.
Gen.20:8-10 Remember the Sabboth day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabboth of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: You, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle , nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
Lev.23:3 There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a holy day, a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly.
Matt.11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matt.12:8 "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
Col.2:16-17 Do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. Those are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
Heb.4:9-10 There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.
Acts2:42,46 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer...Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.
Heb.10:"25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Rom.14:5-6 One man considers one day more sacred that another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord.
Gal. 4:10-11 You are observing speical days and months and season and years! I fear for you that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.
Luke 24:1-2 On the first day of the week, very early in the moring, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread, Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.
John 8:47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.
Luke 10:16 He who listen to you listens to Me: he who rejects you rejects Me; but he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.
Is.66:2 This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at My word.
1Thess.2:13 When you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.
