Battling the Enemy with Prayer
One thing is obviously wrong with "that sentence".... it is the "I" part. We, ourselves, are no good at this battle. We must learn that our enemy is a "ruthless bully" but we have a Big Brother who can and will fight for us.
Are you like me? I have to learn that over and over again. I am so glad HE is patient with me. Praise GOD for HIS love !
What does the Scriptures say about "battling the enemy"
Exodus 17:8-16
Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
Exd 17:9
And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
Exd 17:10
So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
Exd 17:11
And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
Exd 17:12
But Moses' hands [were] heavy; and they took a stone, and put [it] under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
Exd 17:13
And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
Exd 17:14
And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this [for] a memorial in a book, and rehearse [it] in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
Exd 17:15
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:
Exd 17:16
For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn [that] the LORD [will have] war with Amalek from generation to generation.
Praise GOD for those that will heed HIS call to "hold up the hands of GOD's servants" in the time of "battle"
Matthew 16:19
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
The promise is also for all of us who follow Christ (see John16:23). The keys are His words
Matthew 18:18
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Mark 9:29
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
